November 26, 2024, Miami Gardens, FL — The Pediatric & Family Health and Wellness Center, a division of The Center for Family & Child Enrichment is thrilled to announce its inaugural AIDS Walk and Community Resource Fair set to take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex in Miami Gardens. This event will raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, provide vital resources, and support affected families across South Florida.

The AIDS Walk and Community Resource Fair will feature an array of engaging activities, educational booths, and music, all designed to serve and connect a diverse community. To date, dozens of vendors and walkers have registered to participate, and registration will remain open through the morning of the event. Through this dynamic event, the Wellness Center seeks to foster community engagement, educate attendees, and provide access to crucial health resources.

"Participating in the AIDS Walk is not just a step towards raising funds; it's a vital stride in breaking down the stigma surrounding HIV and AIDS," highlights State Representative Felicia Robinson. "These walks are crucial in educating our communities, fostering understanding, and showing solidarity with those affected by this disease. Together, we can shine a light on the challenges they face and promote a message of compassion and awareness."

"Raising awareness about HIV/AIDS is vital to breaking stigma, fostering understanding, and encouraging prevention within our communities. By ensuring that resources and support are accessible to everyone, we empower individuals to take charge of their health and build a future free from discrimination and fear," explains City of Miami Gardens Vice Mayor Robert Stephen III.

"HIV/AIDS continues to affect millions of people worldwide. On December 14th, we will honor the memory of those we have lost to HIV/AIDS and walk together in support of those who continue to fight. We, at The Pediatric and Family Health and Wellness Center, stand strong in our commitment to prevention, education, and accessible care for HIV/AIDS," states Dr. Michelle Kirwan, Chief Medical Officer. "Together, we can end the HIV epidemic and build a healthier future for all.  Let us walk with purpose and compassion!"
