My name is Jerry Parkman owner of Parkman Emergency Preparedness, which is a local company here in Vancouver, WA. My wife Lisa and I are the owners and run this small business, educating the community on disaster recovery, emergency preparedness, training, mitigation, and recovery. Our mission as an LLC is to train communities, supporting government agencies (Emergency Managements), on the importance of preparedness, mitigation, and recovery in times of disaster. We aim to support individuals and families for resilience. We know that when a disaster happens, such as the Coronavirus, families need to be prepared. There's no reason to stockpile supplies, create fear in the community and hurt the vulnerable populations - if you, yourself are prepared beforehand. We conduct emergency preparedness events that focus on sharing knowledge to bring essential and actionable information in a “show and tell” style format to help equip members of the community for emergency preparedness by providing specific measures to be taken (from basic to advanced) to reduce the effects of a disaster on their household.
