General info
Sweet 2 The Soul, a holistic cultural arts center and home to Connecticut's only black female owned theatre is determined to produce stories that bring clarity to the BIPOC experiences with purpose, passion, and love. We currently offer online and in-person acting classes for Ages 5 to 102. Shamica Care DeNully aka "SC" (The Queen of Love Stories), a playwright from the Bronx, received her Bachelor of Arts in Radio/TV/Film from Clark Atlanta University. Her recent collaborations include Yale Cabaret's Black Theatre Festival and Rough Drafts Festival. Since 2005 she has written, directed and produced over 50 original theatrical productions. The first One-Act Play that she wrote was produced in Spring 97' by the Bay Street Theater & Sag Harbor Center for the Arts. Our godfather of the modern theatre August Wilson said: "All you need in the world is love and laughter. That's all anybody needs. To have love in one hand and laughter in the other." Join us in supporting the vision that ignites the soul through the arts.
